THERAPIST

Laura Palmer, MS, LPC-A (she/her)

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate with a M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a trauma-informed concentration. Through use of evidence-based approaches, I provide my clients with therapy that is focused on their individual needs. Trauma is a very personal experience that for some, can have long-lasting effects on daily functioning and interpersonal relationships. We look to bridge the connection from these events and/or stressors to the symptoms most impacting your daily interactions, possibly detracting from your present moments. My experience extends from childhood (age 6) through adulthood in individual, couples, and family therapy.

To help achieve desired outcomes, I use varied approaches including: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Dialectical Behavior (DBT), Exposure Response Prevention (ERP), Prolonged Exposure, Solution Focused Brief (SFBT) and Mindfulness practices. As a former speech therapist, I rely on open, judgement-free communication to create a safe therapeutic environment which fosters growth and overall well-being.
